Experts forecast flatlining RDF exports from the UK in 2025

Full stockpiles at EfW plants could see RDF exports plateau next year, industry experts tell EWB.

According to the RDF Industry Group, exports from the UK have remained resilient, but it said the industry is “not complacent”.

“Increases in carbon taxes may cause RDF gate fees to increase and make exporting less attractive. Since the UK’s fleet of EfW facilities is largely at capacity, RDF exports offer a “relief valve” to ensure the UK’s waste continues to be treated in the most environmentally optimal way,” a statement from the group said.
